I've been on vacation for a month now. It's been so nice lazing around after been on crunch since February for Smurfs and Arthur Christmas. It's a welcoming change of pace; I actually have time to go out and explore L.A. I've been taking the bus and wondering around a lot. I particularly enjoy going out during the weekday and observing the hustle and bustle of a normal workday. Watching people come and go really puts things in perspective for me and makes me feel appreciate this great city.

Starbucks at UCLA

Shane, Luke, and I have been slowly finding various interesting spots around town. Fortunately, since it's L.A., there is plenty. Here are a few drawings from the UCLA campus...I remember having to write reports and memorize theorems once...

Sony/California

Soooooooooo, I moved to Los Angeles this past week and tomorrow is my first day at Sony Imageworks, eek! Here are some pictures from my roadtrip from freezing Minnesota to sunny California. Some of the locations include Dillon, CO; Arches National Park, UT; Los Vegas, NV; and Malibu, CA.

I am super excited to have my own place and living in a large energetic city. I've been moving around so much these past months that its also a nice change to have the independence and convenience of a car. Although the amount of people in LA does make even going to target difficult.

Yay.

Pixar and the Moon!

Hey y'all! Long time no update.
My internship at Pixar wrapped up a few weeks ago and now I'm interning at Moonbot Studios in Louisiana. I can't believe it's been four months since graduation; time really flew by! It's been extremely busy and lots of traveling around. Hopefully I will be able to do some art updates soon, but in the main time, look some pictures.

Pixar was a blast! It was really inspirational to see such smart and talented people so down to earth and hardworking. I've learned a lot and got to know some really awesome people.

It will be my third week at Moonbot and it still amazes me how unique it is that a bunch of us that went to school together also have the opportunity to work as a team professionally. It's really special and I do feel like everyone is working for each other. It's been a lot of working hard and playing hard.

Thank You Ringling!

Three years ago I agonized over the question of "Which school?!?"

After three years of hardwork, fun, tears, failure, triumph, fatigue, jealousy, self-doubt, and many other things, I can say that although I can't say which school is better than the other, I can say that I would not trade my time at Ringling for anything else.

Ringling as taught me many things about being an artist. Aside from developing my skills, I really learned about who I am as a person and what I value in life. I learned that it's not about the competition but learning from those around you. It's not about the career but the passion for doing what you love.

Thank you to the computer animation faculty and my graduating class. You have all made a major impact on me and I am confident there is a bright future ahead of every single one of us.

On to bigger and better things!
